‘My 600-lb. Life’ Star’s Family Got to Say Final Goodbyes Despite COVID Restrictions

Exclusive
The family of Coliesa McMillian — who appeared on Season 8 of “My 600-lb. Life” — was thankfully allowed to see her in the hospital before she died … something they feared would not be possible due to COVID restrictions.
Coliesa passed away Tuesday at a hospital in Louisiana, but her mother, Sadie Courville, tells TMZ she’d been at the Baton Rouge facility for quite a while … and they hadn’t been able to visit her due to pandemic rules.
She says the hospital made an exception when it was clear Coliesa was on her deathbed, allowing her and Coliesa’s 2 teenage daughters in to say their final goodbyes.
Sadie says she patted Coliesa’s arm while her girls cried and held her hand.
“Living like this is not living.” Tune in to a new #My600lbLife tonight at 8/7c. pic.twitter.com/JTN73ULoqQ

According to Coliesa’s mom … the family doesn’t know the exact cause of death, but she says her health went downhill after she underwent weight loss surgery and sadly, she never recovered.
A rep for the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office tells us … a review of Coliesa’s medical records shows she died of natural causes due to complications from that surgery months ago.
Coliesa was 41.

Bobby Shmurda Cops Diamond Pendant that Glows in the Dark

@ericdajewler / Instagram
Bobby Shmurda just ripped a page out of his pal Rowdy Rebel‘s playbook … copping a $100k chain that glows in the dark.
Rowdy Rebel hit up celeb jeweler Eric Da Jeweler to create something special that he could gift Bobby to celebrate finally getting out of prison. Eric came up with this beauty … a pendant and chain encrusted with a whopping 75 carats of emerald-cut diamonds!!!

Talk about your name in lights … all that ice spells out SHMURDA, with a glow-in-the-dark border outlining it.
We’re told Eric gave it to Bobby right after he got out last week — ’cause, as everybody knows, the fresh-outta-prison starter pack must include crazy bling.
As you might remember … Rowdy Rebel’s demon chain was waiting for him when he got out back in December. Eric was also the brains behind that chain … which featured 50 carats of diamonds.
As we reported … Bobby was sprung last week, getting out 10 months earlier than expected.

Chloé Zhao Makes History at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards

Nomadland director Chloé Zhao‘s Golden Globe win on Sunday night marked a series of historic firsts. She’s not only the first Asian woman and woman of color to take home the best director win but also the second woman ever to win a Golden Globe for directing. The first was Barbra Streisand for her work in Yentl back in 1983, which means it took a shocking 38 years for another woman to win the category.
“This is why I fell in love with making movies and telling stories, ’cause it gives us a chance to laugh and cry together and it gives us a chance to learn from each other and have more compassion for each other.”
And in a long-overdue first, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association nominated three women in the best director category: Zhao, Regina King for One Night in Miami, and Emerald Fennell for Promising Young Woman. In Zhao’s acceptance speech, the Chinese-born filmmaker thanked her fellow nominees for making “beautiful, beautiful movies, the Nomadland family, as well as the nomads who shared their stories with the movie’s team.
She went on to share a quote from one nomad from the film, Bob Wells, about compassion. “Compassion is the breakdown of all the barriers between us. A heart-to-heart bonding. Your pain is my pain. It’s mingled and shared between us,” she read. “Now this is why I fell in love with making movies and telling stories, ’cause it gives us a chance to laugh and cry together and it gives us a chance to learn from each other and have more compassion for each other, so thank you everyone who made it possible for me to do what I love,” she continued. While Zhao is well known in the indie film circuit, Nomadland, which also won best motion picture on Sunday evening, marks her biggest project thus far. Watch her full acceptance speech ahead.
